Vacancy:
Specialist in Pediatrics and Child Health
Ref: 2023-25
Comprehensive Community-Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) aims to be the preferred provider of accessible specialized health services in Africa and serves as a healthcare social enterprise through development programs in the community and among the most vulnerable. Committed to preventing lifelong disabilities wherever possible, CCBRT is also engaged in extensive maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) activities, including obstetric fistula repairs. Its Maternity and Newborn Wing serves as a referral center for high-risk and emergency deliveries in the region of Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.
For the expansion and strengthening of our pediatric and child health services, we are looking for a dynamic and committed pediatrician to join our team.
As a specialist in pediatrics and child health, you will provide high-quality clinical pediatric care to children and newborns. You will examine patients, obtain medical histories, and perform a wide range of tests during OPD consultations and ward rounds. You will also assess pre- and post-surgical requirements.
You implement the standards of care and promote perinatal care. You collaborate with colleagues to plan treatment, both medical and non-medical, if need be. You participate in perinatal, natal, and postnatal audits.
You will conduct on-the-job training programs for newborn care in the neonatal unit and postnatal wards. Support the implementation of standard operating procedures for essential newborn care, newborn resuscitation, and the implementation of kangaroo mother care and infection prevention practices.
Furthermore, you will be part of the on-call team and rotate in on-call duties, so your preparedness to work on weekends and in emergencies is an important aspect of the job.
The job provides a lot of on-the-job learning opportunities.
