Asasi ya Uwezeshaji Tanzania: ASUTA is working in partnership with FHI 360 on Epidemic Control (EpiC), which is a global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), which is dedicated to achieving and maintaining HIV epidemic control.
It is led by FHI 360 as prime and has a five-year period of performance from April 15, 2019, to April 14, 2024.

Job Description
Support the development and ensure the availability of study data collection tools.
a. Provide oversight on quality data collection, collation, data entry, and analysis of results using statistical techniques, and provide performance reports as required.
b. Provide supportive supervision for data collection and entry.
c. Conduct site visits as required for troubleshooting data issues.
d. Develop, review, and maintain copies of data collection forms (ensuring accurate updating as needed) and support documentation for data management.
e. Maintain database backup and filing systems for the study data.
f. Perform and document procedures for data preparation, including data cleaning, standardization, and data analysis.
g. Participate in study data and progress reviews as required with the study coordinator and partners.
h. Ensure stock-taking and supply of data collection tools and/or forms are done in a timely manner.
i. The Data Officer will be responsible for providing high-quality data entry, data management, and quality control of data.
j. Responsible for conducting internal data quality assessments and developing data quality improvement plans related to data entered by nurses, counselors, peer educators, and others whose data pass through him/her before compilation at the regional level.
k. Responsible for providing technical assistance related to data entered using tablets. This will include training providers on how to enter data, providing assistance in troubleshooting errors in the field, and handling the electronic devices used for data collection.
l. The person in this position must be able to work independently, be experienced in data management using electronic devices, particularly computers, and tablets, and preferably be comfortable working in key population and service provision and outreach sites.
m. In addition, he or she should maintain the confidentiality of medical information. Client record forms must be kept where no client or other uninvolved staff has easy access to the data so as to maintain confidentiality and build trust with the clients.
n. Be responsible for running outputs, cross-checking with the original data source to ensure accuracy, and running reports for data management purposes on his or her assigned team.

Qualifications and Experience
Education and experience
- Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Certificate in Data Management, Computer Science, Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, or a related field
- 2 years of experience in electronic data entry and cleaning; preferred experience with HIV/AIDS programs
- Preferred familiarity with MOHCDGEC/PEPFAR data systems, including DHIS and DATIM
- Excellent computer skills, at least with the Microsoft Office package, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding clients’ health status and sensitive information contained in data sources
- Experience working in key population programs is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams to achieve healthy results
- Ability to develop productive working relationships with counterparts and other agencies and organizations worldwide
- Aware of and sensitive to working in multiple socio-economic settings and with multicultural and behavioral groups
- Ability to interact well with all targeted groups and peer outreach workers by facilitating a non-judgemental, non-discriminatory, and non-stigmatizing environment in the program to welcome all key and vulnerable population beneficiaries regardless of their background.

Job Title: Community Engagement Officer
Community Engagement Officer at ASUTA August, 2023
Job Details
General Responsibilities:
a. Coordinate, supervise, and manage field interventions conducted by Community Based Health Service (CBHS) providers and report on deliverables. Also, s/he will play a liaison role between local community leadership, municipal authority, police gender desk, and the organization on the course of program implementation in various trainings, workshops, and meetings.
b. Support daily PE interventions and reports,
c. Ensure the objectives of the EpiC are met:
d. Work closely with other team members in the data, biomedical, and regional teams.
e. monitoring of classes handled by PEs and providing necessary support,
f. To develop at least one or more program success stories in a month,
g. Mainstreaming and developing KPs at risk in accessing education, reproductive health, HIV, HTC, GBV, and entrepreneurship,
h. Providing a comprehensive campaign for behavioral change communication within communities at risk,
i. Focusing on negative behaviors in communities that prevent young women from participating in social changes, self-reliance, and health services,
j. To develop at least one funding project proposal for ASUTA every quarter,
k. Collaborate with the Data M&E manager or officer to prepare periodic, field, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
l. Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and consolidated reports for donors with support from the program manager.
m. improving the performance of PEs at their local operation areas.
n. Work with the project team members to ensure training inclusion in key workshops and capacity-building events.
o. Collaborating with the project manager to ensure smooth implementation of project activities

Qualifications and Experience
Education and experience
- Degree in sociology, social work, commerce (marketing), community development, or a related field.
- 2 years experience in managing health programs in an NGO setting, planning, designing, supervising, reporting, and evaluating healthcare programs Previous experience and understanding of gender policies and women’s rights policies are preferred.
- Experience working in key population programs is an added advantage.
